Hey there fellow pottery enthusiasts!

Wishing you a very warm welcome to My Homemade Pottery Online Shop.

I’m Vanessa, a recipe blogger and creator of My Homemade Kitchen. I love using my creativity to make something with my own two hands. It is something that fills my soul and brings me great joy. Hence my love of creating with food. Conjuring up interesting new ideas and seeing the end result on the plate is super exciting for me. Even after years of doing so, it’s never a boring day in My Homemade Kitchen.

Since I do my own styling and photography I am always on the hunt for unique ceramics that suite my aesthetic and can make my creations pop on screen. And while machine made items can be beautiful, I really love having one off unique pieces with a bit of character. So, in late 2023, I joined a pottery studio to learn how to make these pieces myself.

I have always marveled at handmade pottery pieces. And since joining a pottery class has been on my creative bucket list for many years it was the perfect time. I haven’t looked back since. Learning new techniques, improving on those I already know, and being surrounded by the most inspiring and talented group of fellow potters has become my favourite day of the week.

I adore working with clay. And while it is a bit of a fickle and stubborn medium, seeing your original work being taken out of the kiln is immensely satisfying. Sometimes a bit frustrating and disappointing as clay has a mind of it’s own. But very exciting to see if what you have imagined has turned out as you hoped.

I love making pieces to use in my own kitchen and especially for food styling. So I decided to launch this site to make some of my favourite signature pieces available for purchase too. These are some items that I have seen or collected on my travels but can’t easily source locally. And since I find them super useful or fun myself, I’m sure there are some of you out there who would also love them.

Finally, since I love any holiday theme or celebration I’ll be adding a few pieces for those special occasions too.
